Our Facilities

Accomodation, activites, and the grounds

Macaroni Wood is based in 17 acres of woodland in the Cotswolds, near Cirencester, about 3 hours drive from London. The trees, wildlife, plants and open spaces provide a safe, sheltered setting free from traffic, pollution and noise. A safe rural environment that allows children, young people and adults the chance to play and relax safely. We are part-funded by the London Borough of Lewisham and therefore Lewisham groups have priority booking status in Bazley House from March to September and sole usage during the school holiday periods.

We have two houses – Bazley House and Castree House.

Bazley House sleeps 27 people in self-catering accommodation.

Castree House sleeps 15 people in self-catering accommodation specifically designed for people with disabilities.

The grounds have an outdoor adventure playground area, a BMX bike track and bikes and lots of small animals including chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl, rabbits and guinea pigs that all groups are welcome to help feed and look after.

There are indoor play rooms and in 2011 we opened a separate  indoor sports hall that can be  used for five-a-side football, badminton and short tennis.   In 2012 we will have finished the wood yard project, that includes the sports hall, and will have a classroom, kitchen and toilet facilities  for all groups to use.
