This self-catering accommodation for groups working with people with disabilities was opened in 1995, and can sleep 15 people in total.

On the ground floor there is a kitchen/living room, 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, toilet and laundry room. The building has a fire alarm system and emergency lighting in the event of power failure. All rooms have a nurse-call alarm system.

Kitchen/Living room
The kitchen area of this large room is well equipped with a range cooker, a dishwasher, 3 sinks, 2 larder fridges and is fully accessible. There are two large dining tables seating 15 comfortably and the living area includes sofas and armchairs as well as a TV and hi-fi system.

Bedrooms
There are 3 accessible ground floor bedrooms with 3, 2 and 2 beds in each. A fitted sheet, duvet and cover and pillow is provided for each bed and the rooms all have wardrobes and chests of drawers for personal belongings as well as a wash basin.

All the ground floor bedrooms have nurse-call alarms linked to a console in the living room and one of the upstairs bedrooms. Doors from the bedrooms open on to the patio. It is possible to turn on an alarm system at night which sounds throughout the building should a bedroom door to the outside be opened.

Bathroom
The bathroom adjoins the largest bedroom and has a wheelchair accessible shower, free standing bath, toilet and wash basin. We also have an electric hoist, a changing table and a wheelchair for use in the shower and a nurse-call system in this room.

Laundry room
There is a washing machine, tumble dryer and a chest freezer. In the hallway outside the laundry room we now have a payphone for groups to use. The phone number is 01367 850127

Toilet
There is a separate toilet on the ground floor with a nurse-call alarm.

Upstairs
Upstairs in Castree House there are 4 extra bedrooms with 3, 2, 2 and 1 beds in each. All but the single room have separate washbasins and vanity units. There is also a bathroom with a bath, shower, wash basin and toilet.

At the rear of Castree House the doors open out on to a patio that leads down to a lawn area and then the woodland beyond. We have created a wheelchair accessible path through the wood that follows a circular path past the dewpond and back to Castree House. On the patio there is garden furniture and a barbecue for groups to use.
